TEMECULA (June 9, 2023) — In response to a live-streamed “press conference” broadcast from a local church’s stage, One Temecula Valley PAC (1TVPAC) condemns the performative, irresponsible behavior TVUSD Board President Joe Komrosky and Trustee Danny Gonzalez.

“In yet another example of the influence of partisan politics on the policy-making behavior of Komrosky and Gonzalez, the made-for-TV political rhetoric and the irresponsible, and inaccurate, statements made by the two trustees was nothing more than childish behavior,” the PAC said. “While they billed the event as a ‘press conference,’ and members of the press were in attendance, neither of the trustees took questions from the press at the event.

“And while they both claimed they were not speaking for the TVUSD board as a whole — their misinformation campaign, mischaracterizations of state and district laws and policies, were made as though they were indeed speaking for the entirety of the board.

“This shameful, self-serving display was yet another example of how woefully unqualified and irresponsible Komrosky and Gonzalez are — along with Trustee Jen Wiersma — and is yet more proof that they acquired the seats to serve not the students, staff, and parents of TVUSD — but their personal, political, and religious beliefs only.”

1TVPAC thanks California Superintendent of Schools Tony Thurmond, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and California Governor Gavin Newsom for insisting that TVUSD trustees comply with, observe, and abide by State Education and State Constitutional laws.

“All the three trustees have to do is comply with California law,” the PAC said. “And Thurmond, Bonta, and Newsom would not have to turn their attention to the district, potentially putting the district in serious jeopardy for financial penalties and potential lawsuits.

“Comply and none of this embarrassment for the city is happening. Just don’t break the law.

“Further, childish and inaccurate name-calling by these elected trustees is not only shameful, but shows a commitment to their own personal ignorance above the best interests of our school district.”

1TVPAC stands by its request for Komrosky, Gonzalez, and Wiersma to step down from their seats and allow the public to elect qualified candidates that will put the best interests of our schools, school district, and community first.
