1TVPAC to rally in support of TVEA’s Blue Tuesdays

The Temecula Valley Educators Association has begun rallying in front of elementary schools throughout Temecula in response to the Temecula Valley Unified School District’s recent rejection of a social studies textbook for students in grades K-5.

They have invited parents and community members to stand with them in support.

In communication with their teachers, they write: Let (parents) know how the TVUSD Board of Trustees voted against a teacher recommended textbook. How does a top performing district find itself with no textbooks in the fall? How can the Trustees make a declaration of teacher appreciation and then leave them with the stress of starting a new school year without resources on the same night? The TVUSD board is limiting student and teacher success in elementary classrooms across the district.

When: Tuesday, May 30 and June 6
Time: 20 minutes before school starts
Where: Your local neighborhood school

Sample Messages for Signs:

  • Temecula Students deserve textbooks in the fall

  • Temecula teachers support quality textbooks for quality students

  • TVUSD voted to not have textbooks next year

  • Teachers need Textbooks for Teaching

Let’s show support for our teachers and students!
