Public statement in response safety at public school board and city council meetings

TEMECULA (Monday, Dec. 11, 2023) — One Temecula Valley PAC (1TVPAC) believes in good governance and supports public officials who display these traits:

1. Fiscal responsibility

2. Fact-based decision-making

3. Professionalism and Honesty

4. Seeking stakeholder input

5. Policies benefitting all stakeholders, guided by diversity, equity, and inclusion

6. Adherence to the rules of office

We believe in free speech, even when that means listening to those we do not agree with, and seeking common ground. We support the freedom of religion, but not when religion and politics are brought into city council or school board meetings, where it doesn’t belong.

Those governing bodies are non-partisan and our country is founded on separation of church and state.

We do not believe in threats, fear tactics, false statements, or misinformation in order to further an agenda, even if the agenda benefits stakeholders. We are vehemently opposed to it when it furthers an individual’s personal agenda, regardless of whether it is driven by religion or politics.

Personal agendas have no place in politics, which is why elected officials are often referred to as “public servants.”

The public is an important, essential, part of these local governing boards and we encourage all members of 1TVPAC and those who support 1TVPAC to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. We have never condoned doxing or personal attacks, at meetings, online or in-person, and do not support sharing personal information of others or encouraging others to publicly humiliate or harm elected officials and members of the public.

Good governance doesn’t include selfish acts, lying, bullying or treating stakeholders as enemies. Our community is stronger and safer when we listen, seek common ground and make decisions that are best for us all.
